Since 2008 VIVO has been the name that has been heard as the Title Sponsor in the IPL. But now after a decade, the name is getting replaced. It has been officially announced that the TATA group is going to be the new Title Sponsor for IPL 2022.
Tata group is a big name owned by Ratan Tata and this group is the company that has been a backbone of the Indian economy for 100+ years. The Tata group owns companies like TCS, Tata Motors, Tata Steels, etc. This was confirmed by IPL chairman Brijesh Patel to PTI.
“This is indeed a momentous occasion for the BCCI IPL as the Tata Group is the epitome of global Indian enterprise with an over 100-year-old legacy and operations in more than 100 countries across six continents,” said the secretary of BCCI, Jay Shah. Further to his statement, he added, “The BCCI like the TATA Group is keen to promote the spirit of cricket across international borders and the growing popularity of the IPL as a global sporting franchise, bears testimony to the BCCI’s efforts”.

No matter who comes as the Title sponsor in the IPL, people are going to watch the match. But, yes for people in India this is going to be a personal touch on having an Indian brand be a title sponsor in the Indian Premier League.
